Terms & Conditions for Safe Pay

1.     Business Correspondent Relationship

Bharti Airtel Limited is a business correspondent (“BC”) of Airtel Payments Bank Limited (“Bank”). A savings account with Airtel Payments Bank (the “Savings Account”) may be opened through part-time banking outlets operated by authorized BC agents of the Bank or through the Bank’s mobile application.

  1. Eligibility

Safe Pay is available exclusively to customers holding a Savings Bank Account with Airtel Payments Bank and have their Airtel mobile number linked to their Savings Bank Account.

  1. Scope of Services

Safe Pay enables authentication of UPI and net banking payments at online and offline transactions across India. This authentication is provided in addition to the mandatory two-factor authentication, thereby offering enhanced security compared to prevailing regulatory requirements. The terms & conditions governing Airtel Payments Bank Savings Account (available at: https://www.airtelpayments.bank.in/static/terms-conditions/savings-account) shall apply to Safe Pay and shall be read in conjunction with these Terms & Conditions. In the event of any inconsistency or conflict, the terms & conditions of the Savings Account shall prevail.

  1. Operational Conditions

The functionality of Safe Pay is contingent upon:

·       Adequate availability of an ideal network connection; and

·       Customers having active recharge on the number with capability to send SMS

·       Timely server response to trigger Safe Pay notifications on the registered mobile number.

·       For some older eSIM customers, upgrading to the latest eSIM version is required to enable Safe Pay. Customers identified with older eSIM versions will be guided through the upgrade process when they access the relevant page.

  1. Bank’s Rights

The Bank reserves the absolute right, at its sole discretion, to modify, suspend or withdraw any feature of Safe Pay, at any time, without any prior intimation or assigning any reason whatsoever.

6.     Disclaimer of Warranties

The Bank and Bharti Airtel Limited (“the Parties”) provide Safe Pay on an “as is” and “as available” basis. The Parties make no representation or warranty, express or implied, regarding the uninterrupted or error-free operation of Safe Pay, including but not limited to network availability, server response time, or compatibility with third-party systems.
